Welche technischen und fiktionalen Spekulationen zeigen Filme wie Return to the Lost World, Summer Time Machine Blues oder Atomic Brain Invasion? Welche Romanzen und Gesellschaftsvisionen erzählen Filme wie Girl in His Pocket oder The Year of the Sex Olympics?

Future is a 6-hour science fiction video that consists only of text. It shows all tracks from science fiction movies that were produced between 1900 and 2013, in alphabetical order from A–Z. Each of the title refers to a utopia or dystopia, a time in the future about which one can only speculate.

Reduced to the title, the video shows an index of a fictional world using terms about fears, hopes, disasters, fantasies, phantoms, illusions about the supernatural and the extraterrestrial, about reorganizations and revolutions, machineries, brains, genes, sex, power and death, etc.

What stories and futuristic visions may be hidden behind such titles as A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell or Surf Nazis Must Die hide? What are the technical and fictional speculations of films like Return to the Lost World, Summer Time Machine Blues or Atomic Brain Invasion? What romances and social visions tell films like Girl in His Pocket or The Year of the Sex Olympics?

The video has no answers to these questions. There is not a single image nor a tune of a sound, only the title, the director, the year, and the production company of the relevant science fiction film, nothing more and nothing less, 6 hours long.
